Although we’ve yet to experience a Winter wedding here at the Farm, picturing a rosy-cheeked bride and groom against a backdrop of gently falling snow makes us hopeful we’ll see one here soon. If you’re thinking about a Winter wedding you might be wondering what color scheme will bring about the perfect seasonal feel for your day. A Winter wedding can inspire a variety of color palettes, from traditional red and green to metallic gold and silver. Our current favorite hue for the season is burgundy, which reminds us of cozying up next to a hot fire with a steaming cup of mulled wine. Classic pairings are gold, greige (a neutral mix of beige and grey) and mink (a muted gold hue). If you’re looking to up the ante and take burgundy to the next level, we suggest pairing it with some complimentary colors, like blush and mauve. Ready to commit? Go bold with burgundy bridesmaid dresses and plaid bow ties to match, or give your paper suite a rustic feel with a pair of burgundy moose printed on Kraft paper. Perhaps our favorite way to incorporate this trend? A pop of burgundy in the form of an artichoke or berries set amongst a sea of winter white flowers.
