Dionne Entertainment has been on our radar for a while, and we absolutely loved hearing one of their own, Dave Dionne, mix things up at our Winter Wedding Showcase last month. We caught up with Dave recently to talk about his business and how he turns his tables for weddings. If you’re looking for a DJ for your upcoming Hardy Farm wedding…think about hiring Dionne Entertainment! You won’t be disappointed.
From Dave: I’ve been a wedding DJ since the mid-seventies. After working for radio stations WBLM, WJBQ and WMGX for several years, I decided that my weekend job, as a DJ for wedding receptions, was what I really loved. Weddings are a “live” event. The music formats used are varied and change from week to week. Ceremonies typically involve playing pre-ceremony music (I often use The Vitamin String Quartet). Playing that perfect processional song and then the recessional song. I then segue into the cocktail hour music which is a mix of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and various easy listening songs that everyone recognizes and loves. Once the introductions are done, it’s time for dinner music! Again, very popular songs played at just the right volume. Once the dancing kicks in, it’s time to play the popular music of the day and get everybody dancing. Depending on the demographic breakdown of the guests, music can range from the 50’s through today’s big hits. Top 40, Country, Oldies and of course a few slow songs here and there and the guests can dance the night away!
