Our friends at TheRing.org did a nice little write up about Hardy Farm, The Boathouse, and our unique engagement with Shawnee Peak.

Best wedding venues in Maine from TheRing.org

The state of Maine is the perfect spot for any wedding.  There are an abundance beautiful venues to choose from, and many can be found through TheRing.org.  Couples planning a Maine wedding can find historical buildings, charming old barns, views along the ocean side, gorgeous hotels, lakes, or simply a campground in the great outdoors.  There are wedding venues for all sizes of weddings and dedicated people to help you host an amazing and most memorable event.

One venue, Hardy Farm 1750 can provide you with the best of EVERYTHING Maine has to offer!  Whether it’s a quaint farm wedding, a breathtaking mountain top wedding, or a sunset at a coastal wedding, Hardy Farm can offer it all!

Their three different venues provide something truly uniquely Maine and offer every couple the very best of what Maine has to offer.

Hardy Farm

The Hardy Farm was established in 1750 and is now a wedding venue in Maine.  Its picturesque scenery is the rural charm and the White Mountains of Maine. The farm remained in the same family for ten generations.  In 2002, it was purchased by Greg and Deborah Link, and completely renovated when it opened in 2013 as one of Maine’s most popular wedding venues, having now hosted over 200 weddings!

The farm was turned into a special and unique wedding venue featuring an historic farmhouse and whitewashed barn, woodland chapel, 103’ sailcloth and magnificent grounds and gardens. With its rustic elegance, Hardy Farm provides an authentic and historic feel while still maintaining a contemporary ambiance and all of today’s modern conveniences.

You and your guests will enjoy the beautiful New England countryside, and because of its close proximity with North Conway, NH, and the Mount Washington Valley, it brings all the beauty of rural Maine to you! Hardy Farm also has the ability to accommodate up to 32 people for an overnight or weekend stay.

The Maine Boathouse

If you envision your wedding on the Maine coast, the Hardy Farm’s sister property is for you.  The Maine Boathouse offers your wedding party a completely quintessential Maine experience.

The Boathouse, located in a completely unique ocean-front setting, was built in 1813 and is one of the oldest structures in the historic village of South Freeport.  It was once part of a working wharf building tall wooden ships and its history even includes being used during prohibition to smuggle alcohol.

The Boathouse also offers two guest cottages; the Heron Cottage and Osprey Cottage, which like the Boathouse, also sit on pilings literally OVER the water!  The Maine Boathouse and cottages are perfect for a small intimate wedding or celebration where you will truly experience of Maine’s “down-east” charm.
