Today in our couple interview, we’re talking to Christie and Michael. From a shy beginning to an oh-so-sweet proposal story, we can’t wait to see these two tie the knot.
Wedding Date: September 20, 2014
How did you meet and how did Michael pop the question?
We met at a BBQ on the 4th in 2011, but we were both too shy to say anything to each other. After some asking around, we got each other’s number and set up our first date. We quickly became each other’s best friend and the person we turned to to help us through some tough times, including the stress of me going through nursing school.
On April 28th, 2013, Mike proposed. I knew he had a ring for about two months as he isn’t very good with secrets. I was starting to get really impatient on night before he proposed, when he asked me if I wanted to go on a picnic the next evening after work. Immediately I knew something was up. When he picked me up, he placed a wrapped box in my lap, asking me to hold it, but not open it. He drove to Willard beach and we had Amato’s sandwiches while watching the sunset. He then got down on one knee and started talking. To be honest, I don’t quite remember what he even said, I was just excited it was finally happening!
We are so excited to make this commitment and have our wedding at Hardy Farm.
Speaking of Hardy Farm, how did you choose our venue?
We choose Hardy Farm because of the ability to make our wedding totally ours. We love that we can use any vendors and that we can use the spaces however we see fit. Also, being able to have the farmhouse for use all weekend allows us to relax, not rush, and spend time with everyone. Hardy Farm is everything we could have asked for. In addition, our experience has been wonderful. Deborah and Greg have been so helpful. I have heard horror stories of brides not being able to contact their venues when they have questions or concerns. Anytime I think of a question, I send off an email and I usually hear back within a few hours. It’s been a big stress reducer knowing that Deborah and Greg are there and it’s one less worry I have.
What vendors can we expect to see in September?
