Fryeburg native, Spring Smith Studios, will be one of the amazing photographers at the Maine Wedding Showcase Sunday, July 31st. It’s almost here!
Tell us a little bit about you & your business.
I love where I live what what I do. I’m a mother, a wife and a business owner. I grew up here in Fryeburg, Maine and am so happy to call it home. My husband, almost two year old daughter and I live bought the house next-door to my childhood home where my parents still live. My photography business is both my passion and my work. I’ve been photographing people for as long as I can remember and spend my high school and collage years in the darkroom.
Weddings are full of love and laughter and who wouldn’t want to spend a work day surround by that? I love what I do and can’t imagine a greater privilege than to document the beginning of your lives as a married couple.
What makes your business different?
You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day. The more you have in common with them, the more comfortable you are the more real and authentic the images they create will be. I’m a laid back, fun loving person. I tend to help bring stress levels down and make you feel comfortable by cracking a joke or two. I’m not a photographer that poses you in a bunch of stiff robotic poses to capture the perfect image. The perfect image in my book is one that looks and feels like you at your best so I have a slightly more hands off approach to posing and couples portraits and it leads to a more romantic, soft style of portraiture.
I promise you that I will make you feel at ease even with a camera pointed at you. I will ensure that we have both enough time for the image you want and the list your mom’s have. You will have an album of images that you absolutely love and will want to share with friends, family and the generations yet to come.
Why do you like working at Hardy Farm?
Having grown up here its so nice to have such an elegant and beautiful venue here in my home town. I love that the beauty of this area is something couples can enjoy and we can capture for their wedding day.
The Hardy Farm is such a unique venue with the barn, tent and woodland ceremony site if offers so many great options and spaces. I also love that just a few min drive away we can photograph in the open fields by the river and show off the mountains that make this area that much more beautiful. I also love that the Hardy Farm is such a transformative wedding venue. You can truly create any look you want. It gives you a beautiful blank slate that you can then customize to just the look and feel you you want for your day. So many rustic venues don’t offer something so classy and many classy venues don’t have options to bring the rustic and natural elements in- with the hardy farm you get the best of both worlds which always makes for stunning photos!
