Hardy Farm: Tell us a little about your business:

SP Films: My name is Nora McCormack with SP Films. I’ve been working in video production for the past 11 years, & can’t picture myself doing anything else! When I’m not shooting weddings over the summer months for SP Films, I’m running Sunday River TV– an Outside Television affiliate station at Sunday River Ski Resort. I started SP Films in 2008, & things have really taken off the past 3 years. What started as a 1-woman show has now grown into a reliable & talented collaboration of shooters and editors. I never in a million years thought that I had the ability to build my business to where it is now, & it still blows my mind how many couples want me to be a part of their celebration! It’s always such an honor to be trusted with telling such an important story.

Hardy Farm: What makes your business different?

SP Films: At SP Films, I take the time to get to know my clients on a more personal level. By having an open line of communication throughout the entire planning process, I’m able to get to learn their personalities, values, & history. This allows me to tell their story in a way that is true to who they are (not to mention put them at ease on the day of the wedding). A wedding is a nerve-racking event! Adding a stranger with a camera to the mix is only going to make things more stressful. By meeting & building a relationship with my couples beforehand, I’m just another friend in the room.

Hardy Farm: Why do you like working at Hardy Farm?

SP Films: I love working at Hardy farm for all of the obvious reasons– it’s GORGEOUS, there are so many great spots in the area for portraits, & everything takes place in 1 location (which simplifies my job significantly!) The team over at Hardy Farm is great about making sure that all vendors are on the same page, the couple has everything that they need, & that everybody is having a great time. It is also very close to where I am based out of, so I don’t have to charge for travel. It’s a win/win!
