We are excited to announce that Sarah of Watershed Floral will be contributing a monthly post featuring the latest and greatest in floral trends and design for your Maine barn wedding! The first post in this exciting series is on using tulips in your spring wedding bouquet!
Along with the lovely daffodil, the tulip is the quintessential spring flower. Those of us who live in the north look forward to blooming tulips as a sign that warmer weather is indeed on the way.
Tulips are quite versatile; they come in a wide array of colors. Tulips can be used achieve a bright, energetic look, as well as a more subdued, romantic one.
Tulips make me think of quaint gardens, potting sheds, and the freshness of spring. They also evoke simplicity and elegance. Tulips are not fussy, yet they have a mind of their own, stretching their stems wherever they please. Tulips do not like to stay put; perhaps they’re as restless as we are this time of year!
Here are some ideas that incorporate the fresh, simple, timeless look of tulips.
1. Collect tin cans in a variety of sizes. Have friends over to turn them into decor for your big day.
Keep it simple and embrace the natural color of tin.
