When couples first visit Hardy Farm, they often tell us how instantly they feel at peace—the quiet of the woods, the mountains rising in the distance, and perhaps most of all, the lush gardens that surround nearly every inch of the property. It’s no surprise that our gardens have become one of the most beloved photo backdrops for couples tying the knot here in the White Mountains of Maine.
But what makes them truly special? Like everything at Hardy Farm, it all comes down to care, history, and the people behind it.
24 Years of Garden Love
The gardens at Hardy Farm are not just beautiful—they’re personal. Over the past 24 years, the Link family has lovingly developed the raised beds, stone walkways, and vibrant plantings that now define the space. From the espalier apple trees that line the raised beds to the blooming borders around the stone courtyard, farmhouse, and whitewashed gazebo, every garden was created with intention.
They aren’t here just to look pretty (though they do that effortlessly). They’re here to welcome, to inspire, and to reflect the natural beauty of the seasons—from tulips and daffodils in spring to late-summer dahlias and golden foliage in the fall.

A Decade of Dedicated Care
These gardens are lovingly tended by Sierra McLaughlin, who has been nurturing them for nearly a decade. Her thoughtful planting, seasonal rotation, and attention to detail are what make the property feel so vibrant and ever-changing. Whether it’s pruning roses by hand or designing new layouts for blooms near the ceremony spaces, Sierra’s work is part of what makes Hardy Farm feel so alive.
Guests often comment on how lush the property feels—and it’s thanks in large part to her efforts, and the long-term vision of the Link family.

Picture-Perfect Backdrops
Weddings at Hardy Farm offer a variety of stunning photo locations, but the gardens always steal the show. We’ve seen couples exchange vows beneath the gazebo, sneak away for golden-hour portraits among the dahlias, and host cocktail hour with blooming borders all around. The colors shift with the seasons, so no two weddings look the same—and the photos? Always timeless.
If you’re planning a wedding here in late spring through early fall, the gardens offer built-in beauty that enhances every moment, without needing a lot of extra decoration.
